This is a duel between two sportsmen, in which each, while avoiding enemy attacks, seeks to inflict as many blows in certain parts of the body. The fight is carried out in the ring, a square court, enclosed by ropes (the side of the square from 4.9 to 6.1 m). Boxers are in soft leather gloves, and for some time already a protective helmet on head. Strikes are allowed only in front and side of the head and body (above the waist). Seizures, tremors, side steps, kicks, elbows and head are prohibited. The battle is divided into three-minute rounds (3 rounds among fans, up to 15 rounds for the professionals). The winner is the boxer who scored more points for successful attacks, or wins by knockout. To equalize the chances, athletes are divided into groups according to age, sports skills, and weight categories. The sportsmen do a lot to win and get the titles, they have trainings every day, they have diets, and they try to control everything. All the efforts are done to get the title of best of the best, to become one of the famous boxers in the world.

Famous Boxers: Muhammad Ali

One of the most famous boxers, Ali belongs to the heavyweight class. He was born in 1942 in Kentucky.

His birth name was Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr., but he changed it when he changed his religion and became Muslim. In his career he won 56 matches out of 61. He is famous for winning 37 of them by knockout. Everyone considered him to be possible rock all the other heavyweight sportsmen. And his first title came to him in 1964, when he defeated Liston. He won the Gold Medal in Olympic Games. His first lose was so professional and good, that when in four years he defeated his enemy, he was called the fighter of the year. He took his retirement in 1981 and later was called a sportsman of the century. He is one of the greatest and most famous boxers of this century.

Famous Boxers: Mike Tyson

Mike is also one of the most famous boxers, representative of the heavy weight category. He was a champion. Born in 1966, he won 50 fights out of 58, 44 were won by knockouts. He is sadly famous by his biting the right ear of his opponent. He is accurate and fast. He is really good, but unfortunately has some personal controversies. But everything is good as it ends well. He is one of the most famous boxers of nowadays.

Famous Boxers: Lennox Lewis

Just like above mentioned famous boxers, Lewis is also famous in being former heavyweight champion. Actually, he won this title in three different occasions. He was born in UK, and also won the Gold Medal in Olympic Games. He won 41 matches out of 44, with 32 knockouts. One of the most famous boxers declared his retirement in 2004.
