Amir Khan’s tutor Freddie Roach claims he privately knows a ‘mystery man’ seen during ringside during a Briton’s detriment to Lamont Peterson.
Khan used his Twitter comment to post a array of images of a male around a judges’ list during a Dec fight, where Peterson won Khan’s IBF and WBA titles after a doubtful points decision.
Richard Schaefer, arch executive officer of Golden Boy Promotions, pronounced yesterday a male had been identified as Mustafa Ameen, an IBF central who was given accreditation for a quarrel notwithstanding not being directly concerned in it.
However, Roach says he knows Ameen and he had no need to be ringside.
“He comes to my gym,” Roach said. “He came to a [US] Olympic training centre and we had him private one time. (Ameen) has no certification – he’s not a member of any fighting organisation. There’s no reason for him to be during ringside.”
Schaefer also claimed a WBA had offering Khan a rematch with a American and urged a IBF to follow suit.
Roach (above) agrees that, since of a probable interference, a quarrel should be announced a no-contest and a rematch held.
